In summer of 2008, over drinks with a friend, I was expressing my frustration in feeling powerless in my career as an actor.  It really doesn't matter how bad you want a part; it constantly feels as if mythological gatekeepers are blocking the way to the next place you want to be. 
His reply was simple:  "You should create your own work."

And so this journey began.
I enrolled in a class with playwright Matt Hoverman about writing one's own solo show.  Matt believes that each human has a story to tell.  And to find that one story, all one has to do is ask, "What one thing, if it hadn't happened in my life, would have left me a different person than the one I am today?"

Love. Guts. High School was developed over a twelve month period. 
It's a 60-minute show about chasing one boy obsessively through high school, and losing one's sense of self - and of love - in the process.  What happens when you 'like-like' someone so much you stop liking yourself?
